How to check

Frequently asked questions
If nothing is found, is the name free?
Not necessarily. Only a literal match in the names of registered marks is searched here. Similar-sounding marks, figurative (logo) marks, pending applications and international registrations must be checked separately. Before deciding, contact the Intellectual Property Agency or a patent attorney.
Where can I see the owner and validity period of a mark?
Click the mark’s name in the results - its page opens in the official register: owner, classes of goods and services (Nice classification), registration and expiry dates, and the image of the mark.
How do I register a trademark?
The application is filed through the Intellectual Property Agency’s PANAH electronic system. First check the name in the register, then choose the classes of goods and services the mark will protect.
