Frequently asked questions
How is the electricity bill calculated?
For households electricity is charged in tiers by monthly consumption: the first 200 kWh at 8.4 qapik, 200-300 kWh at 10 qapik, and everything above 300 kWh at 15 qapik. A Tariff Council decision of 30.12.2025 added a fixed charge of 1 manat per month.
Why is the gas tariff based on annual volume?
For households the gas tiers depend on total consumption during the year: up to 1200 m³ from the start of the year at 12.5 qapik, 1200-2500 m³ at 22 qapik, above that at 30 qapik. That is why the calculator lets you enter gas used in the earlier months of this year.
Are these tariffs official?
The figures are taken from official decisions of the Tariff (Price) Council, and every section links to the decision and the official document. The page regularly checks tariff.gov.az and shows a warning when a new decision appears. The bill is an estimate; the actual amount is on the supplier's invoice.
