Entrepreneurs and company staff took an active part in the blood donation drive held under the motto One drop of blood, life for a thousand hopes.
The voluntary donation drive was organised jointly by KOBİA and İCMA, with Marsol Group, Malham International Hospital, the National Centre of Haematology and Transfusiology and the Republican Blood Bank as partners. Marking 27 September, Remembrance Day, it was held in Baku at the Baku SME House, the Republican Blood Bank and Malham International Hospital. Entrepreneurs and company staff gave blood, as did representatives of KOBİA, İCMA and Marsol Group. Haematologists checked every donor beforehand, and blood was taken only after a full examination.
Held for the second time, the drive was wider this year: on 25-26 September it ran in Shaki, Lankaran and Khachmaz as well as Baku.
Some eight hundred people donated across Baku and the regions. The blood collected will be used in treating patients with haemophilia and thalassaemia and others who need transfusions.
Last year around five hundred people gave blood in the same campaign.
