Frequently asked questions
What is an HS (customs) code?
The commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity (the HS-based code used in Azerbaijan) is a 10-digit classification code for goods. Customs duty rates, prohibitions and restrictions are determined by this code.
How can I be sure the suggested code is right?
The suggestion comes from the Customs Committee's AI service and is a probability, not a ruling. Tap the code, compare its place in the nomenclature and its description with your goods; when in doubt, ask a customs consultant.
Why do some codes show many restriction lists?
The lists refer to ranges of codes. Goods belong to a category by their name, composition, properties and function - so appearing in a list does not mean your goods are necessarily prohibited. Open each list and read which permit is required.
