In Doha, during the fourth session of the Joint Commission between the governments of Azerbaijan and Qatar, the Azerbaijan-Qatar Joint Business Council met for the first time. The event, organised by KOBİA and the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was attended by officials and business people from both countries.
Some thirty Azerbaijani companies and associations from tourism, services, industry, construction, design, textiles and other fields took part. The session discussed widening economic and trade links between the two countries and developing investment and business cooperation.
AZPROMO, the Alat Free Economic Zone, the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar and Qatar Tourism presented business and investment opportunities, and B2B meetings were held between the entrepreneurs.
During the visit, KOBİA representatives met the Qatar Development Bank to discuss SME financing and cooperation across a range of sectors.
Tural Mustafayev, founder of Marsol Group and chairman of the İCMA Board, took part along with İCMA members. Their presence helped open discussion of cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, weigh up joint ventures, and let Azerbaijani entrepreneurs form new partnerships in the Qatari market.
